I have worked for over 35 years as a painter and fine-finish detailer for well-known Painting and Construction companies in San Francisco. My career ended as the company Safety Director for the last 8 years of my 25 years of being employed in the field as a fine finish painter. I enjoyed photographing the buildings I had worked on, as well as nature, culture and wildlife.

During that time and since then I have won awards from a variety of shows and contests, including Best Photograph by Popular Choice, and Honorable Mention in the Sequoia Art Group's 50th Anniversary Spring Art Show. I have won First's, Second's and Honorable Mention's at the San Mateo County Fair. My photography has taken me throughout the USA and all over the world including Africa, Costa Rica, Mexico, New Zealand, UK, Thailand, and Canada.

Basically self-taught when I first started, I continue educating myself by attending several photography workshops ‘in-the-field’ by Jim Stamates, a Wildlife Photographer, Niconian Instructor and workshop leader as well as by Dave Henry, a Canon Instructor who was a Sacramento Bee Photographer for 30 years.

I like to share what I have witnessed with others through my captured images. I like to photograph real life as I see it, which includes wildlife, people, architectural, macro-photography, abstracts, land and seascapes. My goal is to observe what I photograph with minimal impact to our environment and to maintain maximum respect for all living things.

I exhibit my artwork via invitational and juried venues throughout the Bay Area, Amador and El Dorado Counties. My art is displayed at Mistral Restaurant in Redwood Shores (and other venues) through Art Liaisons. Additionally, I have exhibited many times in local libraries, city building lobbies and hallways of public and private buildings throughout Silicon Valley. You can find my photography at Fine Art Festivals in the Bay Area and Sierra Foothills.

I have been acknowledged as an artist in San Mateo County and I was a guest speaker at a Community College discussing photography and design concepts for the Interior Design program. I have also been a storyteller at Rincon Art Gallery in Placerville and was a guest speaker/demonstrator for the Sequoia Art Group in Redwood City.
